Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: Wokorach Receives Birthday Gift as Shaban Credits Sponsors, “You add Value to Us”

The Heathens captain, Micheal Wokorach has been named as the best rugby player for the month of April by Real Stars Sports Agency and Fortebet Uganda.
The awarding ceremony where Wokorach won his birthday gift was held at Jude Color Solutions main branch at Prime Complex in Kampala.
Wokorach who was among the first winners of the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards six years back, he had returned on podium for another accolade.
Micheal Wokorach, the Heathens captain beat off the competition from youngsters, Emily Lekuru of Black Pearls and Yasin Wasswa of Jinja Hippos. The former Rugby Cranes captain has played three games in the month of April for the Heathens, with one man of the match performance against Impis.
His performance throughout the month saw Heathens finishing the regular season unbeaten.
His transition from the center to 8th man, has seen his side improving in propelling in front with vigor.
He reveal that he is happy to win an accolade in the month he was born and even beating off the competition from youngsters.
“It’s quite exciting for me to win this award today, I am one of the first winners of Fortebet Real Stars sports awards in 2018 and today is May, winning for April, my favorite month. I was born in April, it an honor I would say, I want to thank the lord because he has kept me going, he has kept me strong and free from many injuries, so for me to come and win this award is glorious for me because I have been working hard, it’s very interesting, it gives me energy and zeal to keep going.” Said Wokorach after winning.
“It’s also very good for me because I was nominated among the youngsters but again I managed to beat them off, so it’s a big motivation for me going forward.” Wokorach added.
In football, Shaban Muhammad was too good for Sharon Namatovu of She Makerere and Kitara’s Paul Muchreezi to handle.
The KCCA FC striker scored four goals in four games and one assist. His performance propelled KCCA FC into title contention.
If KCCA FC wins today against UPDF at Lugogo, they will be for points behind table leaders Kitara who have 49 points.
“I am very happy for the sponsors to be there for us, these awards motivate us the players, they make us work harder each and every time because whenever we win these awards they add value to us, so i am very happy for this opportunity and I will make sure that i keep working hard…….of course I want to be a top scorer but I don’t want to say that i will because its God who knows better, i don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow but if its mine again I will take it.” Says Muhammad Shaban
Farahat Manirola won the boxing award after shooting higher compared to his competitors in Henry Kasujja and Harlod Mukuye.
The Superlight Nightmare defeated DR. Congo’s Gael Assuman here in Kampala with a knockout win.
Farahat now stands top in Uganda and second in Africa.
The 19-year-old Farahat has 9 bouts in his professional career with 5 knockouts.
