Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: Seven Crowned Best Performers of March

March was an action packed month and Real Stars Sports Agency in conjunction with Fortebet Uganda, made a selection of seven vibrant sports disciplines and the best performers were awarded on Tuesday at Lazio Restaurant at Lugogo.

The best performers came from seven disciplines, that’s; Football, boxing, darts, rugby, Rally, Table Tennis and Woodball.

Muwonge Latib aka dancing Rasta was named the best in boxing category after winning the ABU Title by unanimous decision against Tanzanian Albano Clement in the Super Lightweight category. He beat Kassim Murungi and Bruce Kimbugwe for the gong.

Mato’s added time winner against Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium last week helped resurrect Uganda’s chances of reaching the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals and scoring two goals in the month of march for his mother club KCCA FC couldn’t let his name unnoticed, the 19 year old forward, beat David Owori of SC Villa and Laban Tibita of Busoga United on football accolade.

In rally, the crew of Yassin Nasser and Ali Katumba won the award after finishing second at the Kenya Equator Rally.

Jas Mangat, who finished third at the same event, and Joshua Muwanguzi, who won the Jacob Oulanya Memorial Autocross in Omoro, were also nominated.

In rugby, KOBs prop Collins Kimbowa was named the Player of the Month, making it a back-to-back win for KOBs after Pius Ogena was awarded the title for February.

Kimbowa was exceptional in his team’s five games, which helped them finish the month at the top with 55 games. Eric Tolit (Buffaloes) and Ogena were also nominated for the award.

Parvin Nangozi was named the best Table Tennis player, beating Jemimah Nakawala and Samuel Ankunda after qualifying for the Africa Senior Championship.

Joyce Nalubega was awarded the best Woodball player after winning the Beach Circuit with 39 strokes, the Strokes singles at Kyambogo, and a Silver at the Women Doubles at the Women’s Day Championship.

Sarah Makanga won the award for Darts after registering a 4-0 and 4-1 win over Egyptians at the final of the African Darts Championship in Women Singles, and also won the Egyptian Darts Open Singles category.

Henry Job Odoi and Bosco Lepi were also nominated for the award.
