Finance Trust Women Super League: From Debutants to Danger Team St. Noa Announce Arrival with Dramatic Win as Martyrs-Amus Square Energies

Matchday Two of the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League climaxed on Sunday, 12th October 2025, after a weekend filled with twists, turns, and top-tier drama. Fans were treated to three entertaining fixtures that produced two draws and one thrilling victory — the perfect blend of excitement to keep the title race alive.

At Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, league debutants St. Noa registered their first-ever win of the season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Lady Doves.

Under the guidance of former national team midfielder Tony Mawejje, the Zana-based side showcased resilience and flair, with Lwalisa Dorcus, Babirye Esther, and Patricia Nayiga all getting on the scoresheet.

Babirye Esther’s strike marked her second goal of the season, having also netted in their 1-1 draw against Amus during the opening weekend. The win took St. Noa to four points from two matches — an impressive start to their debut campaign.

For the visitors, it was a story of missed opportunities. Lady Doves took the lead twice through Irene Nantege and last season’s top scorer Resty Kobusobozi, but defensive lapses cost them dearly as they left Wankulukuku empty-handed.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Fight Back to Draw

Over at St. Gerald Stadium, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga avoided a second straight defeat after battling to a 2-2 draw in an end-to-end contest.

The hosts drew first blood through Nusula Nakintu, but a defensive miscommunication gifted Wanda Edina an equalizer just before halftime. In the second period, Edina was again on target, calmly converting from the penalty spot to give the visitors the lead in the 48th minute.

However, Lubaga refused to surrender — Brenda Muyana unleashed a thunderous shot from the edge of the box to level matters in the 56th minute and secure a crucial point for the Kidawalime girls, who had earlier suffered a heavy loss to She Corporates in their opener at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru Buikwe District.

She Maroons and She Corporates Cancel Each Other Out

In the televised clash at Luzira, She Maroons, buoyed by their 5-0 demolition of Asubo in Matchday One, were held to a goalless draw by a well-drilled She Corporates side.

Both teams created several chances, but goalkeepers and defensive discipline dominated proceedings, ensuring the spoils were shared in a tactical battle. 

As the Finance Trust Bank Women’s Super League heads into Matchday Three next weekend (18th–19th October), all eyes will be on whether St. Noa can maintain their momentum and whether established sides like Lady Doves and Lubaga can rediscover their winning touch.

The race for early-season dominance is heating up — as by match day two none is the side secured maximum points.
