FEASSSA Games: St Noa Turns a Nightmare to Kawempe, Lifts East Africa Girls’ Football Trophy

No doubt, St Noa from Uganda is the East Africa giants in girls football following a 2-1 victory against Kenya’s Wiyeta in the final played on Friday mid morning in Arusha Tanzania.

The goals that handed Jimmy Mukubya coached side with the maiden title in the region came from goal poacher, Sylvia Kabene and Erica Kanyamuneza

The goals came from both halves.

Girls football at the Zana based school came in 2017, for all along they have been building and this year has been a success to them in Uganda and the region as well.

They first punished Kawempe Muslim at Gulu, beat the Uganda’s women football power house 1-0 in USSSA games, the same giants met in Arusha at semifinals.

St Noa again eliminated the Valley Warriors, beating them 2-1 to deny them a chance to defend the title they won 2019.

Meanwhile, St Noa in other disciplines where they had competitors, Noa only settled for silver medals, their Basketball side, 5*5 lost the final to arch rivals St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School following a 75-69 full time score on Friday final game.

For starters, it was St Noa with the basketball title and they also beat St Mary’s in 2019, which means, it was a perfect revenge for another Entebbe road school in St Mary’s.

Again, St Mary’s proved that they are still better than Noa in Netball, Noa lost another final following a 35-33 final score. The game was played on Thursday afternoon in Arusha.

In summary, St Noa will return home with one gold medal [girls football] and two sliver medals from Basketball and Netball.

On 24, September, 2022 the 20th edition of Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations games will be climaxing.
