St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende, an education institution founded by Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa in 2001 is a tormentor of many schools in sports and only a few in East Africa that have never tested the wrath of the Entebbe Road based school.
With 13 days to the 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games set to be hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School in Uganda, Voice of Bugerere has visited St Mary’s training ground to highlight the readiness of the school ahead of the games.

For the past two decades, St Mary’s Kitende has been the most winning champion in the three sports disciplines they do compete in; basketball girls, Netball and boys football.
For starters, in the past 20 edition of FEASSA games, Kitende has 18 netball trophies and 14 football trophies.

Many have been wondering, how Kikende is doing it to maintain their top slot for the past 20 decades since they came in the race.
In an exclusive interview with the Netball school team’s captain, Joan Ryekoboth revealed the secret of some factors that have kept Kitende on top.

“Whenever we go on court, we target only the win.” Joan told Voice of Bugerere before adding. “Even if it’s a goat’s championship, we win it because that’s what the school wants, only to win trophies.”
The motivating factor that mostly push them (players) to win every competition they take part, Ryekoboth revealed.

“That white envelope is one of the factors that motivates us, what you need to know, when we win everything is kawa, the every can be very heavy, so we go to win for the school and to have the envelope.” She revealed.
About the FEASSA games preparations, the School’s head coach Hassan Nourdine Kato revealed that they are very ready to defend their title.

“We’re very ready for FEASSA, we’re ready to defend our trophy, the girls are in good shape, we’re just polishing them to go and win.” Said Kato.
“I am not saying that it’s going to be a walk in a park to defend the trophy because every school that reach there go for the trophy but like my boss [Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa] always say, allow not that one who has not prepared well to win, that’s why we always go for trophies nothing else.”
The school had a buildup match against KCCA Netball Club and the former won the tie 84-76.
