Expect No Elections Now, UNF President Susan Anek tells Why
Every after four years, the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) change leadership through elections.
A number netball Sports fraternity have been thinking that the elections are tp be held on 26th February when the federation has an Annual General Assembly set to be hosted at Route 256.
However, the current president Susan Anek in an interview with this website cleared the air that the Assembly scheduled on Saturday 26th February is not an elective Assembly but in that Assembly it’s when the delegates will decide when the elections will take place.
“..no no! the AGM we have on 26th is an ordinary Assembly.” Anek said before adding. “Then we going to table the way forward and that’s the day I am going to chair the last meeting as a president and then the Assembly will let us know what they think about elections”
To those who have been saying that the current executive, it’s term ends in February this year, Anek asked them to flashback when the last held the elective Assembly.
“Our term of office ends in November, so they will decide whether they want elections on November or February(2022), so that they put it back to normal, that will be their choice not mine.
“The constitution says February but let’s go back, when did this executive come into office, so follow the time that they came in. Because we have to follow the four years exactly and they end in November.
So it’s not compulsory anywhere that elections should be in February.“
According to constitution,Susan Anek is not eligible to stand again as the President and she is ready to hand off office.
Currently, it’s only her general Secretary, Annet Kisomose and Blue Stars’ manager, Dennis Mpoza revealed their interests to stand as President and vice president technical respectively.
