The Ministry of Education and Sports Uganda, has rallied all parents to embrace the new lower secondary curriculum as this will emphasis more talent development and skill enhancement of learners.
This call was made by the director basic education from the ministry of education and sports hajji Ismail Mulindwa during Amity SSS Nansana ,Ganda Music, Dance, and Drama Festival 2023.
“You know how practical skills help in the development of a whole human body., if we want to do something, we emphasize it ahead of all other things. Recently, we were able to check on the examination process off the new curriculum . Since this curriculum was introduced some changes have started bearing fruits,” he said.
“So parents , teachers, directors of schools let’s embrace the system it may have some challenges here and there but everything will be ok just give it time.,” he added.
On the other hand, Hajji Mulindwa Ismail commissioned a 3 storeyed building at the school as he commended the director for the great effort to develop the institution..
The building will house a computer Lab, modern science Lab and lower secondary classes.
The prestigious MDD event, which showcases the immense talent of young students while promoting a vital civic responsibility about the new changes of the Curriculum was massively attended by the parents, government officials, Buganda government officials and other dignitaries.
All students passionately engaged in the spirit of competition, expressing themselves through the captivating mediums of music, dance, and drama under the theme embrace the new changes of the curriculum..
The event was also attended by Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko the Buganda Kingdom minister in charge of social services and office of the Nnabagereka , Lawrence Muwonge Buddo sss principal director , Mr Chris Mugisha CEO Uganda Secondary Schools Sports association , among others.
