Diana Foundation Boosts Buikwe Referee Beginners Course at a tune of Two Millions

Buikwe: Refereeing is a challenge to Uganda especially at lower level because of inadequate number, but the Buikwe District Football Association came out to train more referees as away to develop the game in the district and curb the challenge to zero.

The aspiring team of delegates and DFA chairman administration, Kiwanuka Ali organized a beginners course for referees that will last for seven days, starting tomorrow on Wednesday and ends on 6th April 2021 at Makonge Primary Buikwe District.

Not like before, this year’s edition will be sponsored by Diana Foundation who have injected in 2M shillings and the participants will pay 50000/- instead of 150000/-.

Diana Mutasingwa, Woman Member of Parliament, Buikwe District and the founder of Diana Foundation said they have come to support the project because helps in development the talents of youth as well as creating jobs.

We have come out to give a hand, when they gave us their proposal, we saw it important to come in and support, because it involves Youths and it grows their talent. As Diana, I do support football and am a patron of Njeru FC, so I and my team at Diana Foundation we shall continue giving a hand ” said Hon. Diana Mutasingwa while handing over a dumpy cheque of two Million shillings to Beginners course organizers at Cooper Chimney Lugogo on Tuesday.

The current Vice Chairman administration, and the aspiring DFA chairman, Kiwanuka Ali thanked Diana foundation for the big boost towards the course.

We thank the management of giving us such a boost and the fact is, they are still with us. 

We are going to have over 70 participants from three districts, that is Kayunga, Mukono and Buikwe.”

The course will start on Wednesday, 31, March 2021 and end on 6th April at Makonge Primary School in Buikwe District.

The former referee and coordinator of the event, Kawooya Abbey Says that the district has few referees and yet they play over 800 games in a year.

This course is going to add alot to our referee department, we had few of them and yet we have many games in a year, at least 800 games are played.” Said Abbey.
