Cycling: Grand Regional Race Officially Launched

The first ever Grand regional race has been launched on Monday at Sanyuka Restaurant in Lubiri Mengo.
Together We Can Cycling Uganda is organizing the Grand Regional Cycling race on Sunday, 26th November 2023 around the Lubiri Ring road in Kampala and Over 100 riders are expected to participate.
Unlike the previous races, this time round also the women,veterans and youth are to take part.

Solomon Ssebakaaki, the managing director of Together We Can (TWC) Cycling academy said that, “Now cycling is business across the world unlike in Uganda where cyclists, they take it for leisure and our efforts as the organizers of this Grand regional race is to turn cycling into a professional business to improve the welfare of all cyclists in Uganda “.
The best male cyclist 2023 Grand regional race championship will stand to be rewarded with a genuine land title courtesy of Century Properties & Real Estates Limited.
The second runners up will take a motor bike (boxer Bajaji) and in the third place will be rewarded a Bull respectively, among other prizes for the rest of the top ten cyclists.
Abdul Lubega and Kigongo Ssemakula from Uganda cycling association they said that “we are training every day for this event and It is so far so good. By Sunday, we shall be fully ready to compete” Lubega and Ssemakula riders.
In this race 105 kilometers totalling to 30 raps will be covered for men cyclists and the ladies will cover 7 kilometers totalling to 2 raps.
The winner on the side of ladies and veterans will be rewarded 200000 Uganda shillings. all cyclists will be briefed at 7am and by 9am will be the last nail on the coffin.
