CHAN 2024: Thank you for Supporting Continental Football, Final Match at Namboole goes for Free

The government of Uganda has granted free tickets to fans for the third place play off game between Sudan and Senegal set for Friday evening at Namboole stadium.

This come as a token of appreciation from the Ugandan government to the football supporters who showed up in big numbers throughout the tournament.

During the Press briefing hosted on Thursday afternoon at the Media center- Kampala, Dr. Dennis Mugimba has clarified that the total of 28000 tickets have been purchased by the government through the local Organizing Committee and are to be issued for free and they are to be solicited from the CAF website to avoid Black market tickets.

“All these tickets are for free and you should collect them from the CHAN website without paying” Mugimba stressed.

The organizing Committee has also called upon fans to fill up the stadium as Uganda waves a farewell to the tournament.

However, as the tournament comes to an end on Saturday, Uganda has a lot of achievements and challenges that are expected to improve on before the AFCON 2027.

“So far we have learnt that Namboole has the best hybrid grass among all training and match day grounds in East Africa and we are to maintain this to Hoima stadium and Lira” Mugimba said.

He has also called upon capable investors to position them selves well to offer support services to the Africa Cup Of Nations which is the biggest event that is also to be hosted in East Africa come 2027.
