CECAFA/AFCON2021Q: Uganda Cubs Still Flying High, Humbles Ethiopia By Three
Uganda Cubs (U17 National team) still flying high in the ongoing CECAFA/AFCON qualifying tourney in Rwanda, the side registered it’s second consecutive win in group A.
Uganda comfortably beat Ethiopia 3-0 in the last group A fixture to set semifinal date with group B runner up Djibouti.
Free scoring youngster ,Oscar Mawa on the day recorded a brace and he put Uganda in the lead, 17th minutes into first stanza before Ivan Irinimbabazi doubled the lead, 15 minutes to half time break.
In the 62nd minute Oscar bounced back to complete his brace on the day as Uganda Cubs secure 3-0 victory against Ethiopia.
Uganda Cubs head coach Hamuza Lutalo paraded his best players against Ethiopia despite his side’s qualification to the same final before today’s show.
After humiliating neighbors Kenya in their opening fixture, the Uganda Cubs (U17) looked to relaxed and comfortable on the ball against Ethiopia in their last group A tie today.
The Cubs got off the mark by humiliating Kenya who drew Ethiopia 2-2 in the opener with a 5-0 win.
Forward Oscar Mawa scored a hat-trick, Travis Mutyaba and Ronald Madoi one each as Uganda Cubs ran riot against neighbors Kenya in the opening fixture in the ongoing U17 CECAFA/AFCON qualifiers in Rwanda.
