Business: Hon Sarah Kanyinke Launches 50Million AWSNP Project, Encouraged Women Entrepreneurs To Embrace Technology
Hon. Sarah Kanyike, Minister of State for disability and elderly affairs while holding portfolio of the minister of Gender, Labour and social development officially launched the 50 Million African Women Speak Networking Platform project today at Serena Hotel-Kampala.
The project that aiming at benefiting 50 Million Women entrepreneurs in over 38 African continent, it’s National launch at Uganda level was held today, 1st December 2020 at Serena Hotel Kampala and it was attended by business women under different Umbrellas.
While speaking to media after the launch, Honorable encouraged Ugandan women entrepreneurs at all levels to welcome the project with both hands because it’s to help them to linkup with the rest of the world while using only their phones or tabs.

“The aim of this project is to get 50 Million women who are in business, because it will help them to boost their businesses.
The women have good businesses, making nice products but to get market for them is a challenge so we encourage them to join this platform, it will be of great importance to them.” Minister speaking.
“Our target as Uganda, we want to have two million women on this platform.
As government we are supportive to this project because it will help our women to quickly get market for their products and to share different business ideas with women from other countries.
Minister also asked women to embrace the technology and use it to uplift their businesses to another level.
“These days women do have expensive phones but most of them used them to make and receive calls and yet they have modern technology, even those in informal sector, we encourage them to join the cause, because we are planning to translate this information to local languages such that they can easily access it.” Hon. Sarah Kanyike.
Ms Mary Makoffu , East African Community Director for Social Sectors encouraged women to stand tall despite huge challenges they face in business world.
“The 50 Million platform is accessible on web and our members can get information via SMS.
We always stand tall despite the challenges we face in Africa. Please support the network and we encourage you to register and add more ideas on business.
This platform is not only for women but men also are encouraged to join.” Ms Mary Makoffu said in part of her speech.
