Buganda Sports: “I’m not ready to work with Dormant Youths”, Minister Warns as he officially Launches Gombolola Cup

The new Buganda Kingdom Sports Minister, Owek. Robert Sserwanga Ssalongo warned dormant Youths that he is not ready to work with them.
The Minister on Saturday, he launched the Gombolola Cup 2024 at Kajjansi Clays playground and the opener saw Musaale Ssisa and Ssabawaali Kasanje sharing points following a one all draw.

Henry Kawombe scored for Ssabawaali Kasanje and his goal came as early as right minutes while Mukunguzi Wilber leveled for Musaale Ssisa in the 63rd minute.
In his speech, Owek. asked Youths not to be weak and lazy claiming that with that laziness they can’t be the leaders of tomorrow.
“I request all youth leaders with in Buganda that are not ready and willing to serve to kindly surrender their positions. we are not going to work with dormant people.” said Minister.
“Let the youth do all kind of jobs available provided it will not lead you to death or imprisonment after earning then we will look for the jobs we love.”
Owek Sserwanga called upon all people with Buganda to come and support all the 175 sub counties which have over 4000 players.
“We expect over over 4125 players to take part in this competition that is expected to climax on 6th April.”
“These competitions are to prepare players for both Masaza Cup and Bika Byabaganda football tournaments and we believe by the end of the year we will be able to feed clubs from top league’s and the national team.”
The minister promised to organise workshops within Buganda to help in sensitisation,
“We are to sensitise the youth through workshops and seminars, it will be a disappointment if we fail to record the expected numbers,
The Ggombolola Cup is expected to climax on 6th June before the Masaza Cup 2024 kicks off in the same month.
