Buganda Kingdom Announces Dates, Venue for 2020 Masaza Cup Finals.

Buganda Kingdom on Tuesday announced the dates and venue for the final of the 2020 Masaza Cup

As per the announcement made on Tuesday 9th, February 2021 by the Buganda Kingdom Minister of Sports, Leisure and Recreation Owek. Henry Moses Ssekabembe Kiberu at the Bulange Gardens, Mengo, the 2020 Masaza Cup final will be played on 6th, March 2021 at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende Wakiso district.

The prestigious tournament final will see all time winners Gomba lock horns with 2016 champions Buddu with the kick off time set to be 3pm.

“Buganda Kingdom is delighted to announce that the final and 3rd place play off of the 2020 Masaza Cup will be played at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on 6th, March 2021”. Said Owe. Henry Ssekabembe

“The tournament was postponed from 24th January to a later date because of Injuries and fatigue and we needed time to have an exciting game.”

“We are still in contact with Federation of Uganda Football Association and ministry of Healthy to at least have few spectators and this will be communicated. But if things goes the wrong way we will still have the games broadcasted.”

“In this year`s championship we have followed all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as guided by ministry of health that is why the tournament is a success.”

Like the norm has been the finals will preceded by the 3rd place play off which will a repeat of 2019 finals with Busiro taking on Bulemeezi.

The 2020 Masaza cup champions will walk home with Trophy, Twelve Million Uganda Shillings (12M0  and Medals.

The first runners up will be awarded Nine Million Uganda Shillings (9M) and Medals with second runners up taking Seven Millions (7M) and bronze medals. Fourth place team will pocket Five Millions (5M)
