Boxing wrangles return in Mega Dose, Nyakana, Ayiasi and Company Squeeze Muhangi in Red Corner
Kampala: It seems the wrangles boxing fretanity had three years ago has returned back in Mega Dose with few months to their elections.
The disorganization sparked off yesterday when the Uganda Federation Executive had a meeting with a few of coaches and clubs representatives to amend the Constitution to which some stakeholders did not like and according to reports, some club officials alleged to have come from Zana Boxing Club were chased out of the meeting.
They did not even wait to see Jesus Christ resurrectinng, Godfrey Nyakana Amooti and his company as the Uganda Boxing Federation ‘Board of Trustees’ on Thursday came out to issue a statement before the press at Centenary Park- Kampala that lists their discomfort with Moses Muhangi leadership.
According to Nyakana and Paul Ayiasi, Muhangi Moses and his executive has failed give accountability to fretanity for three consecutive years they have been in office, failed to organize all the competitions and the Constitution tells as well as failure to spread the sport at least a quarter of districts in Uganda.
The company also tells that Muhangi is taking the Federation as his personal entity to the extent of illegally amending the Constitution because he wants to favor him.
“These things were hurting and they are still hurting us, the Constitution of the Federation is not respected at all, someone is taking the Federation as his own property.” Nyakana who was appointed as the president of the interim executive committee said before adding, “The sport is not a personal issue, that you can change the Constitution the way you want, we don’t have an executive, it’s a one man show, which is not good for our game ”
Basing on those alleged issues, and cry from the game beneficiaries, the ‘Board of Trustees’ took a keen interest and suspend all activities of the current executive until further notice in the letter dated 15, March 2021 to which they served to UBF office, NCS, UOC, Auditor General, Ministry of Lands, AIBA, AFBC.
So with immediate effect, the Board Trustees suspended Muhangi’s executive basing on section 5 of the Trustees incorporations Act, Cap 165.
In their press release, they said that they want Muhangi to hand over office keys as the commission of Inquiry investigate on them.
The Trustees also released the road map for elections and they expect to hold polls on 11 September 2021.
However, even in 2018 while at Wabigalo in Namuwongo Kampala, the same board held a press briefing which was attempted to resolve the current executive but none changed.
