Stanbic Uganda Cup: Round of 16 Draws Held, Defending Champions Host Kataka

The draws for round of sixteen of Stanbic Uganda Cup 2021/22 edition has been held today at FUFA Headquarters at Mengo.

The defending Champions, Vipers SC has been drawn against Big League side, Kataka football club while Wakiso Giants FC that thumped Kyetume FC 4-2 at round of 32 will be at home hosting Impala Hill FC tormentor, UPDF FC.

Police Football Club and Mbale Heroes, the Eastern Regional league side will lock horns at Omondi Stadium Lugogo.

The winner at Round of 32 between the ten time winners, Express FC and nine time Champions, SC Villa will meet Onduparaka FC at Green light Stadium in Arua.

Mbarara City who eliminated URA FC via penalty shootouts (11-10) going to host Iganga Young FC as Maroons and Ndejje University FC face off at Prison Grounds Luzira.

Booma FC and TIPSA will meet in Masindi to solve their grudges while Solotilo Bright Stars FC and BUL FC set to settle their matters at Kavumba Recreation Center in Wakiso.

According to FUFA competitions Director, Hajjat Aisha Nalule, the round of 16 matches will be played between 20th and 24th March 2022 at various grounds.

She continued to insist that the games should be honored at a fully green pitch and the players that have accumulated two yellow cards are not eligible play at this round.

The winner of this year’s edition will represent Uganda in CAF Confederation Cup.

In the same presser, clubs that won the title since 2017/18 season received their replica trophies, that is KCCA FC, Proline FC and Vipers Sports Club.

This means, all the champions ahead will remain with that replica in their trophy cabin for history purposes.
