FWEL: FUFA In Dilemma, 7 Elite Clubs Fail to Meet Minimum Club Licensing Requirements, League Postponed
In the last consultative meeting FUFA had with Women football clubs owners, Chairpersons and CEOs, they agreed the leagues [Super and Elite] to kick off on 5th and 12th February respectively.
It’s only the Super League that fulfilled the Promise and it’s done with match day two. It’s not by the cause of FUFA for the Elite League to commence but according to the letter the FUFA deputy CEO in charge of football Decolas Kiiza wrote to stakeholders, Voice of Bugerere had a copy, indicates that it’s the clubs that failed to comply.
Elite League must have sixteen clubs pitted in two groups of Elizabeth and Victoria but according to the letter, it’s only nine clubs that have fulfilled the FUFA club licensing requirements.
“Following the letter issued on 1st December 2021 about the extension of deadline to meet the minimum requirements for 2021/22 season, it has been noted that nine(9) clubs have fulfilled the criteria ‘A’ requirements, two (2) clubs have fully submitted but do not have players on the system, and five (5) clubs failed to submit the minimum requirements.” The letter dated 14th February 2022 partly reads.
According to the letter, Isra Soccer Academy Women Football Club, submitted all the requirements but had under aged players who can’t go on the system and their fate is to be decided by the FUFA EXCOM, however, Dynamic Jjeza SS WFC has no single player on the system and the latter will not be granted the 2021/22 license.
The five clubs in category three, that fully failed to meet the requirements include; Ajax Queens, Lango Queens, St Peters Apoi WFC, Amuria High School WFC, and Town View SS WFC.
Basing on all those, the Federation decided to postpone the league kick off to Saturday 26th February 2022.
The nine clubs that are eligible to play this season;
Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC, Luweero Giants Queens, Acholi Queens, Bunyaruguru Girls, Makerere University WFC, Wakiso Hill WFC, Echos SS WFC, Kings of Kings WFC, and She Kataka.
And the decision on whether they will continue playing in two groups or one group, it will be communicated accordingly.
