Stanbic Uganda Cup: Free Stars Get Wild Card as Buganda Region Confirms Representatives at R64

Buganda Region Football Association completed her 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup preliminary games on Sunday 19th, December on five different play grounds.
Upon completion, the region had to announce her six participants to represent the region on round of 64 of the 48th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The five teams which qualified automatically were Wakiso DFA 4th division side, Five Stars FC, Kajjansi United FC, Kiyinda Boys FC, Lugazi Municipal FC and Seeta United FC.

“Earlier on we had five slots but when the Federation added us another, we thought of having the best loser to join those who qualified automatically and Free Stars Football Club took the position”. Said Brian Ssejjemba, the General Secretary Buganda Region Football Association.
Previously, Buganda had only five slots allocated to them by the Mother body, FUFA but a position was added to them together with Kampala region after having many participants registered than other regions.
Free Stars away in Wakiso at Entebbe Works play ground lost to Five Stars Football club by 1-0 score line. The lone goal in the game was scored by defender, Steven Burkina Gitta.
In Mityana at Ssaza Grounds, Kiyinda Boys ejected Masaza City FC in a contest which ended 3-1. Godfrey Kakooza, Joseph Ssewali and Henry Ssebuyungo scored for home side while target man, Ibrahim Kasenge scored the consolation for the visitors.

At Gayaza Church playgrounds, visitors, Kajjansi United thrashed hosts, Manyangwa FC by 5-1. John Wesley Kisakye registered a brace on his name, Jowell Sserunjogi, Farouk Musis and Marvin Nyanzi each score one to comfortably win to qualify. Yasin Kinene scored for Manyangwa.
In other match day fixtures, Seeta United eliminated motivated Nakifuma United in Kalagi by 2-0 score line while Lugazi Municipal ejected Kiwanga United in a tough contest which ended 1-0 in favour of visitors.

Uganda Premier League- All the 16 Clubs
The date for the draws of the 48th edition of the Stanbic Uganda cup will be communicated. The winner on Stanbic Uganda cup represent Uganda in CAF Confederations Cup.
