Low Examination Malpractice as UNEB Release 2020 UACE Results

The Minister for Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni the first lady has today released the 2020 results for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) at Kololo ceremonial ground and H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was at the venue as one of the  Witnesses.

A total of 98392 candidates were registered for the 2020 examinations.

The results indicated that 41.9% were girls with a minimum of two principals that were required for University admissions and that were 68,013 making a percentage of 69.8% more than 2019.

A total percentage of 89.3% got one principal and two subsidiary passes those qualify for teachers training colleges, and technical and institutions.

In terms of percentages, female candidates performed better than their male counterparts at the principal level pass (A-E) in Arts (Humanities), Mathematics, and Physics.

Male candidates were better in Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, Art, and General Paper. 

According to UNEB, at this level, the cases of examination malpractices kept low compared to other levels.

“Cases of malpractice at this level have remained low. However, there was reported external assistance in Mathematics, Biology, and Computer studies.

 In accordance with Section 4(3) of the @UNEB_UG Act 2021, results for those candidates have been withheld.” UNEB.

About the reopening of schools, Janet revealed that when most teachers and students above 18 years are vaccinated.

“The sooner many of you get vaccinated, the sooner we will open the institutions of learning. Learners above 18 years and teachers should get vaccinated” Janet Museveni.
