Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: Shafic Kagimu, Ssekamatte, Ssentamu in Contest For April Accolade
The Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards for the month of April set to take place tomorrow on Tuesday.
The last category which is football released and three players are in contest for the gong.
The three nominees are; Yunus Ssentamu of Vipers SC, Sam Kayongo Ssekamatte of Bright Stars and URA’s Skipper, Shafic Kagimu.
Why are they on the list;
Sam Kayongo Ssekamatte (Bright Stars) . He managed to score eight goals in eight games across all competitions.
In the league he scored six in six games while two goals came from the Stanbic Uganda Cup. He was on the scoresheet twice as Bright Stars defeated Kitara 3-1.
Kayongo scored one goal each when Bright Stars beat Wakiso Giants 3-2, MYDA 3-0, Express 3-2 and KCCA FC 2-0 respectively.
He was also on the score sheet twice when Bright Stars defeated Paidha Black Angels 3-1 to eliminate them in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32.
He has enabled Bright Stars win six of their eight games played in April across all competitions.
Yunus Ssentamu (Vipers)
He has played a big role in Vipers progress last month. He scored seven goals across all competitions. He notched a brace each as Vipers defeated Busoga United 4-0, Kitara away 3-0 and MYDA 4-0 respectively. He was also on the score sheet as Vipers defeated Busoga United 2-1 in the return leg of the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Shafic Kagimu has been an outstanding player at URA FC, he scored three goals and won the man of the match four times.
