FUFA Women’s Super League: Magnificent Ikwaput Wins a Ball, Namiiro Scores As Lady Doves, Corporate Register Day one Maximum Points
Magnificent Fazila Ikwaput moved away with a match ball after scoring a haul as Lady Doves FC hammering helpless Isra Soccer Academy Women Football Club in Group B opening fixture of FUFA Women’s Super League tourney underway at Njeru Technical Center.
The speedy forward, Fazila Ikwaput went riot against young Isra side conceding five on the day.
The club’s longest serving midfielder, Lydia Nyandera first put the Masindi based side in lead after 23 minutes of first half.
The on form, Ikwaput forward started her scoring route in 35th minute. The bounced back in the 48th, 64th and and 89th minute to complete a haul and moved away with the match ball.
The goals took the forward straight to the top of scorers’ chart with four goals now as well as putting Lady Doves on top of the table.
The Fred Tumusiime coached side completely out played the youngest side in the tournament.
The second game of the day saw She Corporate, another giant side in the group beating Olila Women football club with a goal to none, thanks to Noeline Namiro wonderful free kick in the 40th minute.
Now She Corporate and Lady Doves square on points, each with three points but Lady Doves have better goal difference.
On day two, which is tomorrow, UCU Lady Cardinals will be playing their first game of the season up against She Corporate FC while the free scoring Lady Doves FC will battle it out with wounded Olila Women Football Club at 9am and 12 noon respectively.
