Boxing: African Chocolate Company Gives a Financial Hand to Qualified Olympians

In Uganda athletes has been getting recognized by what they have griped from international competition but today 23 April African Chocolate Company formerly known as Pink Foods has set write a statement by extending support to Boxers who have qualified to Olympics games 2020 in Tokyo Japan.

A team of three Bombers includes captain Shadir Musa Bwogi, David Ssemujju Kavuma and the first ever female boxer to qualify for Olympics have received this token.

Stephen Ssembuya Magula the Chief Executive Officer of the Company which owns over 640 acre of Cocoa plantation has handed 2,000,000/= to the Olympians.

While giving his remarks, Ssembuya they have offer little to the country representatives but they were just setting a precedent to which othera can follow to extend support to the Olympians.

“We are setting an example that can invite many big companies to support our athletes during Preparations, It is always pleasure to be an Olympian. As ACC, we are offering 2,000,000/= for preparation and despite that we will give 3,000,000/= to each gold medalist, 2,000,000/= to silver medalist and a 1,000,000/= to every bronze”

The captain of the boxing national team, the Bomber has thanked ACC for the support and called other companies to adopt from African Chocolate Company

“It is a pleasure to have this moment, we are in a situation where we need every ones support so I call others to do the same.
This is to motivate us and on behalf of fellow Olympians here we have to work hard  to keep people like those  ones proud”

At the same event held at the ACC office in Kyanja Kampala, Hellen Bakaleke an All Africa games bronze medalist together with Isaac Masembe each received 500,000/= in cash, while Shafick Kiwanuka, Lt. Aldina Muzeeyi and Latibu Muwonge received 250,000/= each.
