The 2025 Mr. and Miss Central Region Bodybuilding Championship, which will take place on Saturday, 20th September, at the UMA Show Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala, was officially launched on Wednesday at Mamerito Hotel in Bweyogerere.

According to the organizers, the championship has attracted over 50 bodybuilders from both Uganda and neighboring countries.

This championship serves as a precursor to the prestigious Mr. Uganda Championship, scheduled for November 2025.

The top three winners from the Central Region will be joined by other successful bodybuilders from the Western, Eastern, and Northern regions. The competition will feature categories such as Bantam, Welter, Lightweight, Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight.

The event organizers, Suplex Gym, have set the bar high with top-notch organization, which will also include an arm-wrestling competition, as well as categories for Men’s Physique, Women’s Bikini, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and Fitness. Action is expected to kick off by noon.

Denis Kisakye, the main event organizer, shared,

“This year’s championship is better prepared than previous years, and the overall winner will take home five million shillings. This event is dedicated to the late two-time Bantamweight East Africa Champion, Axam Kisseka, who passed away in May this year. Since he was a bodybuilder from the Central Region and had been on stage for 15 years, we plan to donate part of the proceeds to his wife and orphans in his memory.”

Famous bodybuilders such as Hussein Mbajja Phinito, Daniel Mwesigwa, Farooq Miyagi, Fahad Ssetimba, and others have all registered and are ready to showcase their best physiques on competition day.

Farooq Miyagi, the Bantamweight champion in both East Africa and Uganda, expressed his confidence ahead of the event, saying,
