Masaza Cup 2024 Precursor Tournament: Minister to Preside Gombolola Cup Opener
According to the Buganda Kingdom Sports Calendar for 2024 that was launched early this month at Bulange Mengo, Gololola cup competitions were slated to commence at the end of January.
In the line with the Sports Calendar, on Saturday, 27th January 2024, the Minister for Youth, Sports and the Arts in Buganda Kingdom – Oweek. Robert Serwanga Ssaalongo, will officially open the Sub-County Competitions (Ggombolola Cup) 2024 with a game between Musaale Ssisa and Ssaabaddu Katabi at 4:00pm at Kajjansi Clays play ground- Entebbe in Ssaza ‘County’ Busiro.
All the 175 sub counties of Buganda will take part in this Masaza Cup precursor tournament, but within their respective 18 counties, hence creating 18 Sub Tournaments named after the official title of the County Chief.
The purpose of the competitions is to identify, nurture, promote and develop youth talents and the events are forerunners to the celebrations of the Kabaka’s Birthday.
Fixtures and play dates differ per County, but shall all be honored between 27th January and 6th April 2024, with the following counties having completed scheduling their competitions, while others are still in process;

Ssingo Mukwenda Cup [Tuesday,06-Feb-24 Sun,25-Feb-24]
Gomba Kitunzi Cup [Sunday,10-Mar-24 Sun,31-Mar-24]
Kyaddondo Kaggo Cup [Saturday,17-Feb-24 Mon,01-Apr-24]
According to the calendar, the Masaza Cup tournament for 2024 is expected to kick off in June.
