Sponsorship: Bank Of Baroda As Usual Injects 5M in Para Badminton International Championship

Bank of Baroda is the usual partner of Uganda Badminton Association and it stands with the association in whichever tournament they organize in Uganda.

Again they didn’t hesitate again to boost the Para Badminton International championship with a package of five million shillings and to dress the technical officials through out the tournament.

Baroda unveiled the package on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena where the 6th edition is taking part.

The Association’s CEO and the events Manager Simon Mugabi asserted that they have a budget of over 200 million shillings but they welcome whichever package that comes.

“Bank of Baroda is one of our partners at least for over 20 years, we are moving with them always, even today they have come and facilitated us with five million shillings and they are going to dress all our technical team, so we thank Bank of Baroda for always standing with us.” Said Mugabi.

This year’s Para-badminton began on Tuesday at the Lugogo arena.

The six-day event will climax on Sunday, 9th July. It also doubles as qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Paralympic games and has attracted players from 21 nations.

Simon Mugabi, the Uganda badminton association (UBA) chief executive officer revealed that a total of 25 countries have been represented at the event.

“This year’s event has attracted a total of 25 countries being represented with Uganda fielding the most 40 players in different categories among others including wheelchair one and two, standing lower, standing lower 3 and 4 as well as SS6. About 8 players in different categories are top ranked in Africa and we hope for the best,” Said Mugabi.

Uganda will put it’s hopes for glory in Hassan Mubiru, Elizabeth Mwesigwa, Rose Nansereko, Ali Mukasa, Sumin Mutesi, and Asiimwe.

Countries in this Championship include; Uganda the host, Senegal, Togo, Mozambique, Zambia, Tunisia, Spain, Singapore, Scotland, Nigeria, New Zealand, Ivory Coast, Korea, Italy, Israel, India, Egypt, Czech Republic, Chinese Taipei, Cameroon, Brazil, Benin, Azerbaijan,
