Greater Mukono Region Qualifiers: Action Starts, Battle for Three National Slots

Group A: Mukono Kings High, St Mathias Kalemba Nazigo, Mehta SS, Hamdan SS

Group B: Quality High School, St Mark High School Kayunga, Kasawo SS and Mt. St Henry

Group C: Dynamic SS, Kayunga Light College, Rehaboth Integrated School, OF Yale SS

Group D: Namagabi SS, Latifah Mixed SS, St Andrews SS Lugazi and St Johns SS Kauga

The 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association qualifiers of greater Mukono region kicks off this Friday, 14th, April in Mukono District at four different venues.

Sixteen Schools from Hosts Mukono District, Kayunga, and Buikwe will battle for the three slots allocated to the region. They are grouped in four groups of four teams each.

Group A has region defending champions, Mukono Kings High School, St Mathias Kalemba SS, Mehta SS, and Hamdan Islamic from Mukono. All their group matches will be played at Nakanyonyi Church of Uganda playground.

Group B has Buikwe District reigning champions, Quality High School, St Mark High School Kayunga, Kasawo SS, and Mt. St Henry Mukono. Matches will be played at Kalagi Playground.

Mukono District champions, Dynamic SS is pitted in group C alongside Kayunga Light College, Rehaboth Integrated School from Buikwe, and OF Yale SS. Group games will be played at Nagalama Playground.

The group of death is D, which has Kayunga District Champions, Namagabi SS, on form Latifah Mixed Secondary School, St Andrews Lugazi and St John’s Secondary School Kauga. Group Games will be played at  Nakifuma Ssaza Ground.

After group stages, top two teams from each group will advance to quarter finals and here, winners of group A will face off with second placed side in group C and visa verse.

Group B will battle off with Group D in the same order, winners in group B facing second placed team in group D and visa verse.

The region finals will be played on Saturday 15th April on a venue yet to be communicated.
