USSSA Kampala Region Boys Qualifiers, Draws Held, Kick off Is Early Next Month

After finding the champions of the five divisions that make up Kampala Region yesterday, the Region’s organizing committee held the draws on Thursday at Kibuli Secondary School.

Each division was represented by two top performers and they were drawn in two groups of five.

The group stage games will kick off on Monday 03rd April 2023 and will be played on six Grounds, that’s Kibuli Secondary School, Kakungulu Memorial playground, Mengo SS, Kawempe Muslim SS and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and Lubiri SS.

Nakawa Division was represented by Kyambogo College and Concerted College, Kawempe Division brought, Kawempe Muslim SS and St Mary’s of Heritage Nabweru, Kibuli Secondary School and Buziga Islamic came from Makindye Division, Kampala Central brought Old Kampala SS and Kololo High School while Lubaga Division was represented by Uganda Martyrs and Lubiri SS.

Group A got; Old Kampala SS, Kibuli Secondary School, Kyambogo College, Lubiri SS and St Mary’s Heritage Nabweru.

Group B has; Uganda Martyrs champions of Lubaga division, Kawempe Muslim SS, Concerted College, Kololo High School and Buziga Islamic.

The Division Qualifiers had 30 schools that took part in the 2023 season.

Two teams will qualify from each group and make it to semifinals. Group stage games will be played between Monday and Wednesday next week and the opening fixtures will be played at Kibuli Secondary School and Kakungulu Memorial starting at 9am. 

Old Kampala SS will be taking on Lubiri SS at Kibuli while Kibuli SS will be battling Kyambogo College at Kakungulu Memorial playground.

The top four will get automatic qualification to USSSA national finals to be held in Mbarara in May this year.
