UVF All Girls National Volleyball Championship: Schools’ Commission Inspects Hosting Venue
The 2023 edition of UVF All Girls National Volleyball Championship is less than three weeks to it’s tee off in Eastern Uganda.
On Tuesday, the second vice president of Uganda Volleyball Federation who doubles as the Schools Commission supervisor Mrs. Salma Kairungi Otika and other Schools Commission members inspected Iganga SS in Eastern Uganda, the school that’s going to host the major tournament.
In her tour, Salma was accompanied by Chairman school’s commission secondary Mr. Angiro Muhammed Nepo, chairman UVF school’s commission Primary, Mr. Joshua Osea and Iganga SS Headmistress, Madam Nakaziba Monica her Games mistress Kuwogeye Ednance and Assistant games teacher Mr Otim Peter gave them a warm welcome.
The UVF team [Schools Commission] had the pre-planning meeting with the school’s head and her games’ teachers who confirmed that the school is ready to host the event come 11th and 12th next month.
“The School is ready and fit to host the Championship , they have endeavoured to fulfill most of the requirements asked by the federation. The grounds and facilities are okay to host the tournament, happy to note that they have put in place Security , Safety and Medical preparations among others.” Uganda Volleyball Federation 2nd Vice president Salma Kairungi Otika told this website.
“The school has good sports grounds and facilities to host such a major event and we are ready and excited to host the championship.” Says Iganga SS Headmistress madam Nakaziba Monica.
For starters, the championship takes place every year and it’s for primary and secondary schools going students ranging from U12, 14, 16 and U21, this is the 12th edition and the 11th was hosted at Namugongo.
According to the commission, defending champions Trust High School, Namugongo secondary and Vacational
School, Katikamu SDA, Kinaawa High School , Nabisunsa High School, St Elizabeth Girls , host school Iganga SS are among the prominent schools getting that have confirmed their participation in this year’s edition.

Holy Cross SS, Musana VOC. & High School, IGANGA Parents SS, TORORO Girls, Rehaboth Integrated.
