Rally: FIM Africa Motocross Championship Launched

The Federation of Motorsport Association of Uganda President, Dipu Ruparelia, has, today, Wednesday 17th, August 2022, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, launched the FIM Africa Motorcross Championship, which is slated to take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, August 2022 at Victoria Way Park in Garuga.

Uganda, so far, has presented over forty five (45) riders, and all preparations are done for the championship to roll. For the other African countries, over a hundred (100) riders have already been confirmed, and by Friday this week (19th August), all are expected to be in the country.

The Motorcross Championship was last organized in Uganda in 2012. Since then, Uganda was supposed to host in 2020, but due to COVID-19, there was antagonistic era and the championship was pushed to this year.

The Ugandan riders include Arthur Blick Jr,
Alastair Arthur Blick, Miguel Katende, John Ssemakula, Shamirah Katete, Shukurah Katete and Sharifah Katete, who are all more than ready to compete in this championship.

The championship will definitely put these young stars in the spotlight to try and build for the future of motorsport in the country.
