USSSA 2022: Mukono Kings Defeat St Benedict SS To Reach NPP Round of 16
Mukono Kings High School 1-0 St Benedict Secondary School
Mukono Kings High School has on Monday 25th April morning defied odds and set a new record of reaching Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association National Post Primaries Boys Football round of Sixteen (16).
The Mukono District and Greater Mukono Region champions defeated Tororo District finalists, St Benedict Secondary School in their last group (D) games by 1-0 score line to book a place in last Sixteen (16) in their maiden USSSA National finals.

The all-important goal was scored by Ismael Keita Ndifuna at an hour mark minutes
“I feel much more excited for qualifying to round of 16 in our maiden USSSA National Post Primary Boys football because it has been our dream”. Stated, Mudholo Shafiq, the head coach Mukono Kings High School.
“The advantage we have is that our Boys are Academy Players (Naguru Police Kids Soccer Academy) which gives us confidence, combination and stay focused on our target”.
“Now that we have qualified to round of sixteen, we will put up a fight against anyone who comes our way in the knock out round”. Added Mudholo Shafiq
In group stages, Mukono Kings managed to secure Five (5) wins, two (2) draws and one (1) loss out of the Eight (8) group (D) games.
Mukono Kings defeated Bubangizi SS by 3-2, Hope SS Nakirebe by 2-0, Ngora High on 2-1, 4-1 to Tororo Town College before winning St Benedict SS in the final group game.

They (Mukono Kings High School) shared spoils with Standard High School Zzana in a barren draw (0-0) and Kitgum Comprehensive in a one all draw (1-1).
Their lone loss came against Kotido Secondary School which ended in a 1-0 score line.
Mukono Kings High School joins Royal Giants Mityana and St Mary`s Secondary School Kitende who also advance to round of Sixteen.
In Round of Sixteen, Mukono Kings High School will take on second placed team from Group C which have already qualified Mityana Royal Giants and Kibuli Secondary School.
Elsewhere, Greater Mukono representative, St Pontiano Ngondwe SS Kangulumira thrashed Nyamitanga Secondary School by 3-0 score line, Uganda Martyr`s High School Lubaga defeated Mbale Progressive by 1-0 score line and Jinja Progressive thumped helpless Teso College Aloet by 5-0 in group G affairs.
