Wakiso District Returning Officer, Tolbert Musinguzi, has hailed the just-concluded nomination exercise as a “success,” praising both the smooth conduct and the cooperation of candidates.
The exercise, which began on 8th September and ended today, 10th September, saw the Electoral Commission nominate aspirants for Municipality Special Interest Groups, Directly Elected Councilors, and Mayors.

“We are pleased that the entire process went on peacefully, with no incidents of violence and with a good turn-up as expected,” Musinguzi told reporters shortly after the conclusion of the exercise.
He further urged aspirants to adhere strictly to the guidelines and regulations governing the nomination process, warning that non-compliance could jeopardize their candidacy.
Looking ahead, Musinguzi revealed that the next phase of nominations will run from 11th to 21st September, during which the commission will handle the nomination of Municipal Council Chairpersons and Councilors.
The successful completion of this stage marks a significant step toward preparing Nansana Municipality for its upcoming local government elections.
