2023 MASAZA CUP SEMIFINALS: Buddu Visit Gomba, Mawokota Take On Buleemezi
The first leg of 2023 Masaza Cup semifinals kicks off today as Gomba welcomes Buddu at Kabulasoke PTC ground while Buleemezi visits Mawokota in Buwama with all games at 4PM.
Gomba eliminated Ssingo at quarterfinals to reach semifinals on 4-1 goal aggregate while Buddu ejected Kyaddondo on 2-1 aggregate.
However, Buddu after beating Kyaddondo 2-1 in the first leg, Kyaddondo refused to honor the second leg claiming that there was unfair Officiating in the first leg hence making Buddu advance to the semifinals.
Record champions Gomba, are looking for the 6th title and they’ll be hoping to win the first leg to widen their chances of reaching the final and they’re coached by Coach Felix Ssekabuza, who was part of the coaches that won the previous title with Busiro.
Buddu under experienced Simon Peter Mugerwa who was the head coach of Busiro as they won last edition’s title, are also targeting another title after losing 2-1 to Busiro in the last edition in Wankulukuku.
Bulemeezi shockingly ejected favorited Buweekula on 2-1 aggregate to reach this stage, while Mawokota eliminated Buvuma on 1-0 aggregate.
The return leg will be played on Monday 9th October to determine the two teams that will face in this years Masaza Cup final.
