2023/24 SUPL: Inconsistent URA FC Hosts Poor Arua Hill
The Startimes Uganda Premier League matchday eleven commences today with three exciting fixtures.
Obua’s URA FC are welcoming Arua Hill this afternoon at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi as they seek to get back to winning ways.
The Tax Collectors lost 2-0 to NEC on Wednesday, but with their home unbeaten run this season, they’re looking forward to replicate their previous home performance.
In the last home game, URA FC came from a goal down to edge Express 2-1 thanks to Moses Aliro and Laban Tibita’s goals.
For Arua Hill, they lost their last away game, losing 3-0 to Soltilo Bright Stars, but they have won one game and drawn once in their last three league games, with the latest game being a 2-2 draw with Wakiso Giants.
In the presser, URA FC head coach David Obua wasn’t happy with the weather affecting their training programs but he’s optimistic that his boys can get the work done.
“Preparations have been horrible. It’s pissing so much because of the rain which has made it so hard to do training in Gayaza but that’s not an excuse as it’s the situation all over the country. We are going to do our best and work hard to get positive results against Arua Hill SC and the return of Joshua Lubwama is a boost to us as he is a special player.” He said.
This will be the fifth time both teams will be facing each other in history with the Tax Collectors managing one win, two draws and one loss in the previous four meetings.
Last season, URA FC won 1-0 at Nakisuga Saza Ground then, thanks to substitute Ronald Kigongo second half strike before drawing goalless in the return leg at Barifa.
