Pepsi UFL: Bishop Stuart Beat Kyambogo to Brighten Group Exit
Pepsi University Football League
Bishop Stuart University 1-0 Kyambogo University
Honest Atwijukire was the player on target as Bishop Stuart University edged Kyambogo University 1-0 in the 2022 Pepsi University Football League on Friday afternoon in Mbarara.
Atwijukire scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute hence taking BSU top of Group C with six points after three games.
After the same number of games, Kyambogo dropped to second place with 4pts while Kabale University stayed bottom with a single point but with a game in hand.
BSU was revenging Kyambogo given that the former lost 3-0 to the latter in the corresponding fixture played in Kampala.
“Happy that we got three points, it wasn’t an easy game but at least it have brighten our chances to get of the group for the first time in history. So we are going to treat our next games very serious.” Said Bishop Stuart tactician, Mutabaruka John.
For starters, the group has three teams and only one is needed.
The Pepsi University Football League will continue on Saturday with a Group A fixture between Victoria University and the International University of East Africa in Kabojja at 3pm.
