Government Ministries and agencies have been advised to give each and every media platform in the county information to allow proper dissemination of government information.

Ofwono Opondo the Executive Director Media center who doubles as the government spokesperson during the orientation for media on gender and equity responsive reporting workshop which was organized by Equal Opportunity Commission (EOC) yesterday at Imperial royale hotel kampala said that some media owners have reportedly complained of some Public relations officers over not allowing their reporters from accessing ministries and agencies offices for news because they are small which he says affects dissemination of government information.

Ofwono adds that however small the media station is, it has listeners which need to know government programs.

He has disclosed that those so-called small media houses all pay tax which helps to run day to day government programs so they should be allowed to access any office in the government.

He has advised media owners to run how to advertise their products for easy collaboration with government agencies and ministries.

Meanwhile, Safia Jjuko Nalule, the chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) has appealed to the media to always follow up government programs for accountability and better service delivery.
