Women Football: Uganda’s Champions, Lady Doves Pitted in Group A of CAF Zonal Qualifiers

Uganda’s representatives in the inaugural Confederation of African Football, Women’s Champions League 2021 zonal qualifiers, Lady Doves FC have been pitted in group A along side other two sides.

Lady Doves have been pitted in Group A alongside Tanzania’s Simba Queens and Burundi’s PVC FC.

The draws for the zonal qualifiers were held on Thursday afternoon in Nairobi where nine teams were pitted in three-team groups.

Group B will have Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC from Ethiopia, South Sudan champions, Yei Joint Stars and New Generation WFC from Zanzibar Islands.

Group C has Scandinavian WFC from Rwanda, FAD from Djibouti and Vihiga Queens of Kenya, the hosting nation.

The tournament was set to kick off on 17th July 2021.

The champion in this zonal qualifier  will represent CECAFA region in the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League tourney to be held in Morocco this year.

By the time Lady Doves received this news, they were already stormed training camp and they have been in preparations now for almost one and a half months.

The same side, CAF licensing competition cleared them to feature in the tournament and they are only waiting for the Date.
