Women Football: Lady Doves Still Going Miles, State Minister Pledges to Take them To First Lady
State Minister for Youth and Children’s Affairs and well as the third FUFA president Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi pledges to take the Inaugural FUFA Women’s Super League Champions, Lady Doves FC to First Lady, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni.
For starters, Lady Doves FC won the trophy after beating UCU Lady Cardinals FC 2-1 on final held at Njeru Technical Center last week.
To reveal this amazing news to women football, Minister was at the celebration luncheon of Lady Doves FC held at Tavern Woods Kabuusu-Lubaga in Kampala yesterday.

“I am here to celebrate with Lady Doves FC, the first women football club to represent Uganda in continent, we know there is huge challenge ahead of them but as FUFA we are to give them all the support they will need.” Nakiwala said before revealing the huge news.
“We want to take Lady Doves to government authorities in charge of Sports.
We are planning to see that we also take them to Mama Janet for her to see the strong ladies who are going to lift our flag as Ugandan women and as a country.” Said Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.
As State Minister for Youth and Children affairs, Nakiwala said that she is to associate fully with the Masindi based side and she is ready to also support them on all aspects she can.

“I came here to say, I want to associate with Lady Doves, since I am in women football affairs at FUFA and Children, Youths in central government, i am willing to help in all aspects.“
Nakiwala named by FUFA Excom as the head of organizing committee of the August 2021 CECAFA U-20 Women’s Championship to be hosted by Uganda at Njeru Technical Center.
She promised that the arrangement will be superb and expects Uganda to perform better in the tournament.
“It was a great meeting with Minister, since the girls are going in for another tough test on continent we wanted them to get encouragement from Minister to show them that they are not alone in this Struggle and to get advise from Minister, how we can maintain the success we have got and how to keep going.
You know girls may think that winning a local title, it’s all but the engagement she had with us was very important to the girls as well as the team.
We also asked her to help women football register success and to get sponsors into the game.” Said Julius Mugisa when this website reached at him via a phone call.
Lady Doves FC traveled back to Masindi where they are having their official trophy celebrations and the event is at Masindi Municipal Stadium.
