Women Football: Go Back To your Hideouts, FUFA Pushes Leagues to 2022

With much expectations and anxiety by the Women football fanatics about the immediate Return of national leagues this month, the Month body, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) through Competition department, have shocked the franternity.

Following the circular released today, indicates that the tentative dates the federation set before for the FUFA Super and Elite Leagues to start, have been removed and set new ones.

To enjoy the women club football again in Uganda is set for February next year.

Four starters, the leagues were set to commence on 14th and 21st November 2021 for Super and Elite respectively but according to letter FUFA forwarded to CEOs of clubs, the website has a copy indicates that the leagues will return on 4th and 12th February 2022.

This has resulted from the women international calendar that includes the ongoing CECAFA U20 at Njeru, U20 world cup qualifiers in December and CECAFA Women’s Challenge Cup for the Crested Cranes in December.” The letter partly reads.

In communication FUFA did not indicate the format of play of this season.

The communication found most of the clubs both, Super and Elite in intensive training waiting for the league return.
