UYFA Regional Qualifiers: Kampala Galaxy SA, Soccer For Life Crowned Champions of Nakawa Subregion U13,U11 championship

Kampala Galaxy Soccer Academy U13 and Soccer for Life Foundation U11 we crowned champions of the Nakawa sub region Uganda Youth Football Association championship qualifiers in their respective age categories of U13 and U11 competitions. 

The one day qualifying tournament held at Time Out Leisure Park ground in Mbalwa on Saturday has attracted six Soccer Academies from Nakawa Subregion.

The Academies that took part include; Kampala Galaxy Soccer Academy, Taqua Soccer Academy, Omega Soccer Academy, Soccer for Life Foundation, Time Out Leisure Park Academy and Bazanye Foundation Soccer Academy. 

The teams were competing in three age categories; U13, U11 and U8, they were playing in a round robin format, then the top two played the final apart from the U8 where the points determined the champion.

Kampala Galaxy Soccer Academy beat Omega Soccer Academy 3-0 on final to lift the 2024 Nakawa Subregion championship and they will sub region at regional qualifiers slated for January next month.

In U11, Soccer For Life Foundation Academy beat Kampala Galaxy Soccer Academy via spot kicks (3-2) following a goalless draw in normal time.

While U8, Soccer For Life Foundation crowned the champions of the Nakawa Subregion after accumulating more points.

“Our role is to see that the kids grow through all ranks of football development, UYFA calendar asks us to hold such qualifying tournaments and as Nakawa Subregion we had to host this and I am happy that it has ended successfully.” Said Nakawa Subregion UYFA youth coordinator, Jessy Lukoki

“Galaxy Soccer Academy will represent us in the regional qualifiers set to be held in January next month before the nationals set for May 2025. Then next weekend we shall have the U13 girls and U15 boys and I ask Academies to bring their teams such that kids compete with their fellows.” He added.

The winners walked away with trophies and medals for under eight.
