Presidential candidate Gen. Henry Tumukunde has asked the people of Lango sub-region to vote for him in appreciation of his father who voted for Dr. Milton Obote in the 1962 general election.

Tumukunde argues that his father supporting Dr. Obote is a debt the people of Lango owe to him and should repay it by voting for him in the 2021election.

Gen. Henry Tumukunde addressing people of Kwania district

“I want to remind you one thing you don’t know, my father voted Dr. Milton Obote in 1962, I want you to pay me back when you are voting for president. I want to be a president because of you people of Lango. Don’t mix your votes, I want you to work with other people like you worked with Dr. Obote and that’s how I will become a president.” Tumukunde said while addressing people of Inomo Town council, Kwania district.

The former Security Minister was also endorsed by Uganda People’s Congress delegation from the region for him to become the tenth President of Uganda.

It should be remembered that today was the day two of Gen.Tumukinde’s campaigns in this region and he traversed through Apac, Kwania and Amolator as per his campaign schedule.

Meanwhile, Farmers of Awira parish, Akokoro sub-county in Apac district have vowed not support any presidential candidate except one who will return Maruzi ranch back to them.

The 60 square miles ranch Farmers say is current occupied by unknown Farmers and that although government had promised to return 10 square miles to the local farmers, this has never been effected.

The farmers made this complaint to Gen. Henry Tumukunde who is currently conversing for support in Lango sub region.

Tumukunde in response asked them to support his candidature and vote for him promising that he will return the ranch to them and also help the farmers in restocking.
