UBF Champions League: Ringo Unveils ‘Ringo Punch’ as Action Reaches Boxing Day Climax

After a contested weekend that set the tone for super action, the spotlight now firmly shifts to the 2025 Uganda Boxing Champions League grand finale, slated for Boxing Day at the Lugogo Arena.
27 bouts will light up the historic venue, but few carry as much intrigue as the much-anticipated clash between Aziz Ringo and Galiwango Jonathan, a rematch that adds extra spice to an already loaded fight night. Ringo got the better of Galiwango last season, and the rivalry is set to be renewed on the biggest stage of the league calendar.
Ringo, the grandson of former president Idi Amin, arrives at the climax brimming with confidence and bravado. The hard-hitting pugilist has promised fans a new finishing weapon he has named the “Ringo Push”, which he says will be unveiled under the Lugogo lights.
“Come and witness ‘Ringo-man’ punch on Boxing Day. It is a punch that will put down everyone,” Ringo said. “My fans are ready to see me go back home with the title belt.”
The outspoken boxer insists preparation has gone according to plan as he targets defending his crown.
“I have prepared well and I am ready for the finals. I just hope my opponent does not get scared and fail to turn up. It’s going to be bloody,” he added.
Ringo’s confidence is backed by pedigree. Earlier this year, he clinched gold at the Africa Zone 3 Boxing Championship in Nairobi, underlining his status as one of Uganda’s most feared fighters heading into the league decider.
With pride, glory, and championship belts on the line, the Boxing Day showdown promises a thrilling curtain call to the season as the league crowns its champions in front of a packed Lugogo crowd.
