Stanbic Uganda Cup Semifinal1: “Vipers SC is Not Special”, Abdallah Mubiru Optimistic of Positive Result for Police
Abdallah Mubiru is optimistic his charges, Police Football Club will secure victory against Vipers Sports Club in the first semifinal of Stanbic Uganda Cup 2021 edition to be hosted at FUFA Technical Center Njeru on Tuesday.
Despite the fact that they had limited time of preparation, The cops tactician, Abdallah Mubiru not scared of the 2015 winners, Vipers because they are not special to him.
“It’s a good moment for everyone involving in a good, playing a game at this magnitude of semifinal. The league is gone so our focus is Uganda Cup.” Said Abdallah Mubiru while addressing media in a Pre-Match press conference held on Monday morning at FUFA House Mengo.
“Unfortunately it has come at moment when the lads are not 70% or 80 percent fit. We have just come back, we have trained for only five days, means we didn’t get enough Preparations due to COVID-19. But that is not an excuse. Am looking forward to play a good game and see that we win our game tomorrow.
it doesn’t mean that we underrate our opponents but we are just informing them [Vipers] that they are not special.
Mubiru also requested the match officials [Now revealed as Bakasambe Rajab, Okello Dick and Okello Lee] to be fair on that day.
“I only pray that the match officials be fair on that day.“
Vipers SC assistant Coach, Marcelo Cardoso promised to display good football that is good for the development of the game in Uganda and asserted that his boys a well motivated, determined.
“We wish to bring a contribution to the development of Uganda football.
After two weeks of work, we feel very happy of our work. Thanks to our players’ dedication, they are working very hard and show a great improvement.
“We hope to do our best, hoping to play a good match which is good for football.
“For us, our expectations are high of course, we want to play and to win. We are going to get the best results tomorrow.” Marcelo Cardoso said
About the fitness of his players, Cardoso had this to comment;
We are far from 100%, with their dedication, they are improving very quickly. Not at the level we are wish to be. But going to play a good game.”
This game will be played at 3:30PM and the stadium will be out of bounds for spectators but it’s going to be live on National television.
The second Semifinal will be played on Thursday, 23rd at the same venue.
