Stanbic Uganda Cup: Five Stars Tightly Hold Nerves To Eliminate Rays of Grace

Rays of Grace FC (5) 2-2 (6) Five Stars FC
Five Stars Football Club defeated Rays of Grace Academy in penalty shoots to advance to round two of Stanbic Uganda Cup preliminary round on Friday 10th, December at Rays of grace Campus in Kirugu, Njeru Municipality.
The game ended in a two all draw (2-2) at normal time to send the game into shoot outs to decide the winner.
Entebbe based side, Five Stars won 6-5 to eject youthful Rays of Grace.
Faizo Kifumba scored a first brace for Rays of Grace Football club but Ashiraf Kabenge goal and and an own goal from Edrine Lutaaya made the game level by full time.
Faizo sent hosts in rays of Grace FC into lead when he tapped Leonard Kasanya`s cross in 32nd minute of the play before he doubled the lead nine minutes to halftime.
Ashiraf Kabenge pulled one back, two minutes to halftime to keep Five Stars` hope alive.
An own goal from Rays of Grace back, Edrine Lutaaya in the 72nd minute of play.
In penalty shoots, Mubaraka Mitala, Ronald Kigoye, Frank Ssekanjako, Faizo Kifumba, Peter Abalilya, scored their takes while Philip Egesa, Lawrence Mulongo and Edrine Lutaaya missed for Rays of Grace FC.
Derrick Ssentongo and Jackson Kigozi missed their penalty shoots but Steven Gita, Jeremy Matata, James Ssimbwa, Andrew Sselukowe Bukenya, Damiano Mukiibi,Wanyanya Mukawana converted to guide Entebbe based Five Stars to round two of preliminary rounds of Buganda Region.
Else where, Kiyinda Boys eliminated Buwambo United by 1-0 score line. Joseph Ssewali scored the very important goal for the hosts, Kiyinda Boys.
In Namulonge, Simba football club ejected Kikomando football club by 1-0 scored by Yunus Kaddu.
In Mukono District affairs between Sparks Football Club Kirondo and Shavie football club, goals from Farouk Kawooya separated the two sides in a contest where Sparks advanced to next round.
