Stanbic Ug Cup Semifinal Draws held, Express learns opponent

The draws for Semifinals of the 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup held on Monday at FUFA Head offices In Mengo.
Police FC pitted against Vipers SC while Express FC will pay a visit to BUL FC in the first leg at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe.
The semifinals both legs will be honored between 19th and 31st August 2021.
Fred Tamale, the former Express FC player, who scored the first goal at Mandela National Stadium in 1998 was the guest of honor at the event band he expressed what was their during their times.
“In our time, we did not have sponsors, but this time they are there, I am happy that the team I played is still in the race. I only advise the players who are still in the competition is to treat every game as final.” Fred Tamale.
At this Semifinal level of the Stanbic Uganda of the 2020/21 edition, the tie shall be played on a home and away basis and the away goals rule shall be applied in case of a draw at the end of second leg.
According to the FUFA competitions Director, Hajjat Aisha Nalule, for any club to take part, must have to test their players and officials to attend the matches for Covid and there will be cost sharing between the club and FUFA.
Though each team is to host it’s match at known home ground, there will be no fans allowed in stands and FUFA promised that all the remaining matches of Stanbic Uganda Cup will be broadcasted live on TV.
Before the commence of this edition, FUFA had selected Masindi in Kitara region to host the final but due to covid 19, the FA revised this decision.
According to the Deputy CEO in Charge of Football, Decolas Kiiza, the venue and dates for the final will be communicated in the near future.
The winner of this edition is to take a prize money of 50M Uganda Shillings.
