SC Villa Elections: Kizito Fears NUP Wave, Withdraw from the Race, Joins Ssegona
It’s now official, Joseph Kigozi withdrew from the Sports Club Villa presidential race, this website understood.
For starters, the race had three contestants but as of Thursday, 12, August, 2021, Joseph Kigozi via a letter he wrote to Sports Club Villa fans confirmed that he withdrew from the race and he is going to go behind NUP’s Lawyer and the Busiro South Legislator, Hon. Medard Lubega Ssegona.
After a series of consultations with different stakeholders, I hereby inform the supporters and the Villa fraternity at large of the withdraw of my candidature for the position of SC Villa President.”
In the same vein, I have had discussions with candidate Medard Lubega Ssegona and with the backing of my supporters agreed to rally behind his candidature. ”
“In the usual Villa spirit, I have opted to serve in another senior capacity in the Ssegona team as shall be subsequently revealed.
“I take this opportunity to thank those that endorsed my candidature and pledge my unwavering commitment to the SC Villa renaissance.” letter reads.
Kizito’s withdrawal leaves the race between former FUFA Executive Committee Member Denis Mbidde and Ssegona to tussle it out for the Villa Presidency.
The elections will take place on Saturday, August 28.
