Pepsi UFL: ‘This is how it is now’, Bukenya on target as Busitema Mercilessly Welcomes KIU Back in the League
Pepsi University Football League
Saturday Result:
Busitema University 1-0 Kampala International University
Busitema University gives Kampala International University a tough welcome at their return in a league where they didn’t show up last season financial issues.
Simon Bukenya scored the only goal that won Busitema University three points in a game honored on Saturday at their home ground.
Though they didn’t look good in the first stanza compared to Busitema University, Kampala International University had two open chances to have a lead before the break, however their skipper who doubles as their striker, Awekonimungu Joseph wasted two clear chances, the one in the 11th minute when he tapped the ball over the bar before forcing Anyole Mahad into a classic save in the 44th minute of the game.
In the first stanza, Musisi Abdulnoor boys proves that they are ball passing team, a side with a flair but got no clear chance of scoring.

Busitema returned for second half while on front foot, made endless attacks, until they won a free kick, at least 30 yards from the goal and Simon Bukenya converted it at the top of the corner to send the fans in most awaited celebration in the 77th minute.
The Akabwai Geofrey boys just returned in the league but failed to collect any point from Busitema, the result means, UCU and Busitema are the only teams with three points each, in group D.

Coaches reactions:
“The boys didn’t play very badly, basing on the way we have been training and the fact that we have been not in University Football League, so we have new players, you have seen, we have conceded throw a set piece, an early from the back, so we are going back to drawing board and reorganize and see that we win our next game.” Akabwai Geofrey, KIU tactician.
Musisi Abdulnoor revealed that a win is a good motivation to his boys for the next fixture.
“The win motivates my players for the next game because this is the start of the season, we demand them more but they can’t work much at the beginning, it motivates us such that we score more goals when playing against Kumi or UCU, because now the spirits of the players are high.
The work to do now is to work more on the fitness and the work rate to be better than that of today.” Said Musisi Abdulnoor, Coach, Busitema University.
The games will resume on Monday where IUIU at Mbale will be hosting Victoria University.
