Official Liverpool Supporters Club Uganda Unveils Executive Committee

As it’s the Club’s slogan, “Never Walk Alone”, Liverpool football club has wings in different parts of the world and Uganda inclusive.

With the kick off of the new season (2021/2022) of English Premier League came last weekend, the Official Liverpool Supporters Club Uganda has today launched their new Executive Committee as well as the news season they expect to surprise their competitors. 

The new executive committee of seven Members has been unveiled today in a press conference held at Fast Sports Fusion Arena Lugoloobi-Kampala.

This executive got mandate via elections held on 10th July 2021 on zoom meeting and Macwilliams Edward Mponye elected as Chairperson and his deputy is Pamela Rose Icumar aka Maama Liverpool.

The other members on the executive is  Lumbuye Lynkhr, the General Secretary, Ssebyalu Patrick, Treasurer, Agnes Rwaboona Musiimire, the Corporate Affairs and Marketing, the elected Media Liaison is Remah Nakimuli Daniels and Angel Ababanza elected as the Events Coordinator.

Their term ends in 2023.

For starters, the club came into existence in 2005 after the historical comeback of Liverpool in UEAFA Champions League final held in Istanbul Turkey, when the English side came from three goals down to win the title against Italian side As Milan.

From then the passionate Liverpool Supporters in Uganda by lead of John Kimbe initiated this Club, Liverpool has many fans in Uganda but currently the Club has 387 registered members as per 2021.

The elected Chairperson, Macwilliams Edward Mponye revealed to this website why this club is in existence.

First of all we are not only fans but we are supporters who love the club by heart. This Club it’s registered and we are known by our mother club, that is Liverpool in UK, so we want the club supporters here in Uganda to have the original club merchandise at a discounted cost and soon we are opening up a shop here at Fast Sports Fusion, where we have home, we promote fitness and awareness, we do CSR and soon we are going to plant a Liverpool forest in Nakaseke. As a club our fellow supporters have challenges and we reach at every member.

The General Secretary, Lumbuye Lynkhr also added on the objectives of the Club.

We want to create a family bond among all Liverpool Supporters in Uganda, to help Liverpool Supporters come together act as a unit to impact society around them, providing Opportunities to Kopites polish their skills through management of the supporters. ” General Secretary.

We call upon all the Liverpool Supporters out their to come and join us, because alot of benefits you get when you are a team and our club motto says never Walk alone. ” He added.

At the same event at Sports Fusion, they awarded the quiz winners with prizes. And Richard Tusingire the winner walked away with a goat, First runners up, Daniel Omusisa got 100000/- cash and the second runners up, Mourice Mugabe took 50,000/-.

Liverpool is one of the oldest clubs in English football, has 20 league titles and the last came in 2019/20 season.
