Netball: Who Will Be The Maiden She Cranes Contracted Head Coach, Shortlist of Applicants is Out
Early this month, the Uganda Netball Federation Executive advertised the job of head coach of National team, the She Cranes.
Over 30 coaches applied for the Job and yesterday, the Head of Technical, Mr. Richard Muhumuza released the short list of 19 coaches who will go for the interview on yet to be communicated dates.
For starters, this will be the first time in history of Uganda Netball for a national team, the She Cranes to have a contracted Head Coach, the rest have been appointments for certain tournaments.
Almost all the top Netball coaches have applied for the job, among those are; Nelson Bogere, Vicent Kiwanuka who won Uganda the 2018 Africa Netball Championship title, the tournament was held in Lusaka Zambia.
Fred Mugerwa Tabale, the historical coach that returned Uganda to Netball World Cup Final after 36 years of thirsty.
The list also has Rashid Mubiru, who has been with the team, and he was the head coach of the Cranes that featured in Tri-Nation Series Invitation tournament hosted by South Africa in March, 2021.
Coach Imelda Nyongesa, the current Prison Netball Club head coach and she has always been mentioned on the backroom staff of different coaches on national team and Martha Soigi, who was in 2020 named the U-21 National team.
The list also has the National Insurance Company Netball club assistant Coach, Kato El-Noordine Hassan of Ngando SS and Milly Kamoga.

Now it’s in the hands of the technical Committee to announce the dates for the interviews.
Uganda is expecting to take part in many continental and International engagements probably next year and the are planning to have a number of international friendly games as one of the paths they want to use to fulfill their mission of becoming Netball powerhouse in the World.
Currently, Uganda is ranked third in Africa, and seventh in the world according to the rankings.
