The last week of February of every year, it’s in the constitution of Uganda Netball Federation to hold it’s Annual General Assembly but this time round it might be cancelled due to circulating rumors.
According to records, the New executive that came in power last year in June after beating their competitors hands down, it was to hold it’s Annual General Assembly on Friday 25th February, 2022 at Old Kampala SS but according to information reaching at Voice of Bugerere news desk alleges that there is a planned move to sabotage the Assembly or even to halt it
For starters, Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah as the UNF President got misunderstandings with her three executive members in Yahaya Ssengabi, Aminah Mande and Muhumuza Richard and they were suspended and banned from any federation activities. However, on Tuesday, 08th February 2022 at GNS plaza in Kampala, they had a reconciliation meeting to internally resolve their misunderstandings, without the influence of the external parties, and they agreed to again work together as a team.
But according to sources at Lugogo indicates that some top officials at National Council of Sports not happy with the two parties coming to reconciliation and continued to indicate that on Friday, which is tomorrow, NCS will have a meeting with these parties, the source didn’t reveal the agenda of the meeting though hinted of halting the AGM and discussing about the normalization Committee issue.
“What is on ground now, NCS wants to continue with the normalization Committee you mentioned about in one of your stories., It seems they are not happy with the reconciliation the federation had and tomorrow, they will have a meeting at National Council“. The Source told this website.
With that information, this website contacted Netball Federation President Hon Babirye Kityo Sarah whether she has any idea about the meeting to be held at NCS tomorrow.

“Yes I had a call this evening telling me about the meeting at National Council tomorrow but it came at short notice when am already out of the City, heading to upcountry, so I am not sure whether I will make it in time to attend that meeting. “
About the allegations that their AGM is on verge of being halted, this is what Babirye replied.
“I don’t have any idea about that news, what I know is, what we are doing is constitutional, we already communicated to delegates and they are aware that in 25th this month we are having an AGM and we expect them to be at Old Kampala SS on time to discuss what taking our game to the next level “.
