Netball Elections 2021: Regions Endorsing Hon. Sarah Babirye For Presidency, Her Competitors switch to Panic Mode
At least four regions have endorsed Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo for Uganda Netball Federation presidency, 2021-25.
With less than 20 days to voting day, the search for votes has intensified.
For starters, the 2021 Netball elections started early this month and they will climax on 05th June 2021 as the delegates from different parts of the country will be ushering in the new executive.
Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo, the former Central Youth MP of the 10th Parliament is among the contestants for the top office. She has intensified her bid in searching for votes and so far it’s working for the former legislator.
Four regions have endorsed the legislator and promised to support her even at the last day of elections.
The regions that endorsed the younger ambitious goal chaser, include; Western region, Acholi region, Kitara region and West Nile.
The serious Lady decided not to sit in town but to tour all the regions to seek for support and she started from Western region before heading to Kitara region, West Nile and Acholi.
While in Kitara, the former legislator asserted that she is targeting to improve the game of Netball straight from the grassroots that is to say; starting up Netball leagues from the district level, regional league so that the national league can have many clubs from different regions and the game doesn’t remain in the central region only as how it is now.

Supporting young nettballers in studies, constructing mini stadiums for the game and for the Federation to have its own home office.
Basing on such promises, the delegates say that this is the right time for change and the game to become popular than before and they endorsed her.

While in West Nile, Babirye promised the region that they are to have a number of competitions, one of them is to have the competition in memory of Peace Proscovia, saying that the region produced a talent who is a glory to the nation and the world, so they want to have more Peace from the region. Sarah is saying this tournament will be annual.
Babirye is competing with a games teacher from Trinity College Nabbingo, Christine Nampijja and She Cranes Manager, Joyslin Uchanda.
The the former legislator is still on tour and she is now eyeing Eastern region, central, clubs and other Associations before the election day on 05th June 2021.
